ロイヤルシェフは何人かいらっしゃるようですが、このダレンさん、エンターテナーですね。コーギーのぬいぐるみ、ウインストンに着せ替えもして、コミカルです。コーギーのためのお料理も作っていたそうですし、初めての仕事に人参の短冊切りを頼まれ、この大量の人参、女王が召し上がるのですか？と聞いたら、馬のだよ、と言われたとか。コントつきの料理番組。自分で作らなくても、見て楽しめます。
カレーがインド発祥ではなく、ビクトリア女王の時代に、スパイス会社が作ったメニューと言われています。あらまぁ。
国賓晩餐会は読めるのですが、あとは文字がよく見えません。でも綺麗ですね。国旗の色に合わせてあるんでしょうね。
Lemon Drizzle Cake
Bowl 1
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
½ cup vegetable oil
2 TBS lemon zest
2 TBS lemon juice
Bowl 2
1 ½ cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
Glaze 1 艶出し砂糖がけ１回目
1 cup powdered sugar
3 TBS lemon juice
Glaze 2 艶出し砂糖がけ２回目
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 TBS lemon juice
Splash of yellow food color Whisk together bowl one and bowl 2.
Combine and lightly mix together until no lumps. Spoon into 1lb loaf tin.
Bake 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before removing from the tin.
Mix together Glaze 1 and heat on the stove until syrupy.
Make fork holes into the cake and pour over the glaze.
Mix together Glaze 2 (don’t heat) and pour over the lemon cake.
Allow to set before cutting.
Banana bread recipe Makes 1 loaf
8oz self rising flour
1/4 tsp salt
4 oz unsalted butter
6 oz sugar
4 oz golden raisins
1 oz chopped walnuts
2 oz cherries
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
2 eggs
1lb ripe bananas Grease and line tin with parchment
Rub the butter into the flour and salt,
add the sugar, walnuts, raisins and cherries.
Make a well, crack the eggs into the center.
Mash the bananas, add to the eggs and vanilla paste and mix well.
Add to the flour mix and stir until combined.
17時頃のアフタヌーンティの時に、ディナーは城内で食べるか、それとも丘の上でバーベキューをするか、決めたそうです。シェフは、どちらの場合にも対応できるように、チョコレートムースを銀のお皿と、タッパー入りと二つ作ったのだそうです。家族の仲が良いことが見えるエピソードですね。
Drambuie Chocolate Mousse
6 ounces Dark Chocolate.
10 fl oz Heavy Cream.
5 egg yolks. 5 egg whites.
1 tsp Instant Coffee.
2 tbs Glenfiddich Whisky or Drambuie (that I use in the video) or any good whiskey
1 tbs boiling water.
Melt the chocolate taking care not to overheat it in a large bowl.
Put the coffee in a small bowl and dissolve in the boiling water.
Whisk the egg yolks into the chocolate and then add the dissolved coffee and the whisky and mix well.
Whip the cream until stiff and peaks hold.
Whip the egg whites until stiff and the peaks hold.
Fold the cream with a metal spoon into the chocolate mixture followed by the whipped egg whites.
Keep folding until there are no white specks of cream or egg white and then pour into a decorative serving dish.
Put the mousse into the refrigerator for at least three hours to allow the chocolate to set.
The top can now be decorated with rosettes of whipped cream and chocolate curls for table presentation.
This mixture makes enough for about 8 portions of dessert
Chicken Curry
Makes 4 portions
1 ½ lb chicken breast cubed 1 oz /25g
¼ cup all purpose flour
1 oz/25g/ ¼ cup (or to taste) curry powder
1 large onion chopped
1 apple – peeled and chopped
3 cups/ 1 ½ pints chicken broth
1 tbs olive oil salt and pepper
Serve with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney
Cut the meat into 1 inch cubes and fry in the oil to seal in the juices.
Remove to a bowl. Add the onions and apple and sweat off to soften.
Stir in the curry powder. Return the meat to the pan and stir in the flour.
Gradually add the broth and keep stirring.
Simmer for about 20 minutes or until the meat is tender and season with the salt and pepper.
ダンスしていて、蹴飛ばしてしまった相手がチャールズ皇太子だったとか、この方のエピソードはゴージャスですね。コックさんとロイヤルファミリーが同じ場所でダンスって楽しいですね。
